About

Pandemic fallout stay at home mom in Southern California.

I’m Janna. Originally from Canada, I was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. I am hard of hearing with a moderate to profound hearing loss. My hearing loss is hereditary and I’ve been hard of hearing since birth. I’ve navigated with this lifelong hearing loss through school, friendships, social situations, aloneness, work, career and now most recently through parenthood.

Not being able to put my technology instincts aside entirely, I wanted share the stories of raising my kids with their own hearing losses, and how I work with them to develop their speech, language, fine motor skills and in some cases, sign language (ASL). I am incredibly lucky to have a wonderful support system from the school district and schools my children attend, and I wanted to share the activities we do with others who may want to utilize or share their own ideas.
